Easter Sunday

Liv, we all went to mass this morning for the first time.

It was really important to your mom, so even though we were a few minutes late we were going to make it happen despite the crowded parking lot and traffic.

Your mom was so excited she wore a bright Lilly Pulitzer dress and you wore an outfit abuela made. You both looked great.

Today was also the first time your mother and I sat in the glass cage.

There is a special room made of glass inside the church. It’s a sound proof room. The noise is kept in and all the families with babies watch mass from inside.

On a busy day like Easter Sunday the glass cage was everything I expected. Little kids were jumping on the chairs. A little girl was smacking her metal lunchbox on the ground making a mess. There were also babies shrieking and crying with colic. It was chaos.

Your mother is a saint. Nothing about the glass room bothered her, she ignored the fuss and if you got agitated she used a pacifier and then you were a perfect little angel.

Actually, after some thought, that glass cage wasn’t too different from our living room.

In our house we have animals jumping on furniture, babies crying, and when daddy is fussing about something random like the price of gasoline or all the clutter around him your mom ignores it. She doesn’t get bothered and then pacifies daddy with a pepto-bismol so he can be less colicky.

  1. Little Olivia, my Bebita Bonita, Happy first Easter, I wish I could spend the day with you, but I am far from home in CA, with your cousins Zoe and Ava you will meet them in the summer when they go to Florida.
Zoe is the oldest, I call her “mi Niña Bonita” ( my Daddy used to sing me that song ); Ava is the little one, so she is “mi Chiquita Bonita” ; you are my other Bonita, .
Abuela is the happiest person in the world because Gods had bless her with three Bonitas to love and care, and to play and read, and do crafts and painting and share lots of crazy kisses 😘 😘😘.
    See you soon my Bebita
