Liv, you got your first set of shots today.
Your mom and abuela took you to the veterinarian and told me you had a great appointment. You got a clean bill of health.
The veterinarian stuck you on both legs and then fixed you up with band-aids of Clifford the Big Red Dog and another of a lion. They are very cute.
However, right now you are reacting to the vaccines and running your first fever. It is not a very high fever, 100.4, but it is enough to upset you.
I went to the pharmacy and learned there are many different types of thermometers. Some are fast. Some are convenient. Some seem really unpleasant and uncomfortable. The adults know what I mean.
I bought you the kind of thermometer that goes in your ear. You are welcome.
I also bought Mickey Mouse forehead patches that cool you off during your fever. Baby girl, you look like a patient at the cartoon hospital.
Your mother loves you and she hates seeing you like this. Her broken heart probably needs a band-aid too. She will not put you down.
When we are really really really old, and you have to decide whether or not to put the folks in a nursing home – remember your mom loves you and your daddy bought the ear thermometer. π
